A Tough Test

When: Tue., March 4 2014
The trade deadline has come and gone and the Cavaliers have acquired the seven-foot Seattle homeboy Spencer Hawes for two second-round picks and Earl Clark, who fell out of Mike Brown’s rotation some time ago. The Cavs have been playing sensational, gritty basketball through the month of February (against admittedly weak opponents), but March will be no picnic and tonight’s match-up against the Spurs will be tough. Though San Antonio has struggled with injuries — Tony Parker is out for the foreseeable future — with Gregg Popovich, they’ve got the best coach in the league and a winning mentality. Rumors are swirling that Tim Duncan may retire at the end of the year, so tonight’s game might be your final opportunity to see one of the league’s all-time greats. Tipoff is at 7 p.m. at the Q. Tickets start at $10. (Allard)
