Abstract Art

When: Thu., Oct. 9 2014
Come eat hot dogs and listen to an interesting talk about the art of Kirk Mangus. Put on by the Museum of Contemporary Art and held at the Happy Dog’s brand new Euclid Tavern, the talk will focus on anecdotes from Mangus’ life and work. Mangus was a longtime teacher and mentor at Kent State University and put out a stunning amount of ceramic work in his lifetime; his pieces range from the abstract and primitive to the lighthearted and whimsical. The talk starts at 7 p.m. Save your meal receipt and take it over to MOCA between 8 and 9 p.m., and get free admission to the galleries to see Mangus’ work for yourself. (Liz Trenholme)
