All in the Family

Daughter follows dad's footsteps in new exhibit.

Shaker Heights native Rhonda Brown takes after her artistic father, Malcolm, as she exhibits 20 new paintings in Shine Your Light on the World. So it's only fitting that the collection will be housed until early January in the hometown gallery that bears her dad's name. The African American-themed display of vividly colored art is inspired by Brown's childhood memories and stories about her family. The exhibit is on the wall (literally? or on view?) from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, through Saturday, January 5, at Malcolm Brown Gallery, 20100 Chagrin Boulevard in Shaker Heights. Admission is free. Call 216-751-2955.
Saturdays, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.; Tuesdays-Fridays, 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Starts: Dec. 15. Continues through Jan. 5, 2007
