Andrew MacMahon/Kate Earl/Erland Wanberg

When: Sat., April 6, 7 p.m. 2013
Price: $26
Last year, anyone visiting Jack’s Mannequin’s website was redirected to singer Andrew McMahon’s site, making it clear the group had landed in the punk rock graveyard. Strangely enough, the transition into solo artist has McMahon now backed and touring with his strongest army yet as he’s put together a band of both friends and former band mates (like Jack’s drummer Jay McMillan). Rest assured that McMahon’s past 15 years in the industry were not in vain: though his spring tour is a preview of his upcoming debut EP, The Pop Underground, its short four-song track listing leaves Jack’s Mannequin and Something Corporate favorites to fill the bulk of the set list. Though no single has been officially released off the EP yet, live recorded versions of “Learn to Dance” and “Synesthesia” prove McMahon is sticking to his punk rock roots, heavy on the keyboard.
