Andy Black

When Andy Biersack, lead vocalist for hard-rock band Black Veil Brides, released a pop single in 2014 under the name Andy Black, fans got hysterical. They thought Biersack was leaving Black Veil Brides behind in pursuit of a solo career; however, Biersack reassured them he would never do that. Black Veil Brides, as he put it, has a very specific sound; one that Biersack loves but can’t radically experiment with. A fan of Billy Idol, Depeche Mode and Sisters of Mercy, Biersack spent the last two years crafting a drastically different sound for his solo project, Andy Black. The product, Andy Black’s debut 13-track album The Shadow Side, came out this spring to critical acclaim. Biersack’s ability to go from the metal side of Black Veil Brides to the dark pop side of Andy Black is incredible and will be incredible to witness live. (Immerman)
