We’ve been covering Buffalo-based Aqueous’ ascent in regional jam circuits east of the Mississippi for a few years now. With a dynamite album released in October 2014 and a stellar winter tour under way, now’s the perfect time to jump on the train if you’ve yet to do so. This is groove-based, prog-influenced rock. Their catalog is available to stream at aqueousband.com, so check it out. Each song contains sonic multitudes -- well orchestrated melodic journeys that frequently dovetail into full-band improvisation. The last time they played the Grog back in September, they lit up the stage with their best set yet in Cleveland, featuring a mind-blowing jam out of “Origami.” This band only gets better, so there’s plenty to look forward to tonight.
