This Friday's Tremont Art Walk is your last chance to see an ambitious event, as Brandt Gallery hosts a closing reception for Eyeball Chatter, Scott Pickering's 40-year retrospective of prodigious output. "He does a lot of collage," says gallerist Jean Brandt. "And that's how he hung this show. I gave him the key to the gallery, and he installed it. I think the oldest piece was done when he was about 13 years old." Brandt says he chose about 40 pieces representing the "visual riffs" that he has used as an artist and assembled them as a composition. When it comes to shopping for art, Bazaar Bizarre is not just for Christmas anymore. Shannon Okey is hosting a Valentine's show in the space formerly occupied by the Bang and the Clatter Theatre. More than 30 artists and crafts people will be on hand to save you from the hell that is Valentine shopping at the mall. There are even vegan chocolatiers. Bree at Green Panda Press is looking for poems about water for a book to help raise money for Isaac's Wells, a nonprofit organization that builds wells in African villages. They can be political, spiritual, personal or whatever, as long as they are 25 lines or less, and "thoughtful, straightforward poems" that arrive before the February 21 deadline.
