At the Arthouse

Non-multiplex flick picks this week

Sleeping Beauty

Emily Browning (who also starred in last year's wildly underrated Sucker Punch) plays a college student who makes ends meet by taking off her clothes. First-time director Julia Leigh plays a lot of psychosexual games here, tweaking the old-school fairy tale with surreal touches and plenty of flesh. If nothing else, it's a stylish tour de force. Keep the little ones at home though, since no one under 18 will be admitted. At the Cinematheque at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 2, and 9 p.m. Saturday, March 3. — Michael Gallucci

Chico and Rita
