Bands and Beer

Today marks the start of the ever-popular Burning River Fest, held over the weekend by the Historic Coast Guard Station on Whiskey Island. Taking place from 6 to 11 p.m. today and tomorrow, the festival will feature more than 20 bands and musicians on three stages, local food, live chef demos and interactive educational activities. Great Lakes will be pouring some of their favorite brews, including Christmas Ale. Proceeds benefit the non-profit Burning River Foundation. A one-day pass is $12, while a weekend pass is $18. Tickets can be purchased at the entrance to festival or at burningriverfoundation.org. (Jason Beudert)
