With a full-length debut garnering critical acclaim throughout the blogosphere, Bear Mountain is undertaking what should be a really fun tour this fall. And they’re in Cleveland tonight! Check out all that XO has to offer before heading up to Mahall’s. The deeply electronic elements — throbbing, pulsating inflections of bass, etc. — tend to sneak up on the listener in a playful way. “Two Step,” with its steady build toward a plane of danceable joy, is a terrific example of how the band uses simple moves to pull off daring feats. Similarly, for those of you who dig visual imagery in your music, check out the oceanic pulse of “Swim,” which was originally released as a single a while ago. The beat is mesmerizing, and the vocals sound like they’re coming up from miles underwater. (Sandy)
