There’s no better indication that the local brewery scene is alive and kicking than Beer Week. Local breweries and restaurants team up to tap specially brewed craft beers. Often, the brewer himself will be on hand for the affair. Beer Week kicks off tonight with a number of events. The official opening ceremony takes place from 7 to 10 tonight in Ohio City, Tremont, Lakewood and Cleveland Heights where you can bar hop and try the seven small-batch collaboration beers that 16 different Northeast Ohio breweries have concocted. Bars and restaurants on East Fourth Street are also participating. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased on the Beer Week website. A slew of other non-ticketed events take place at bars all over town.
