Best Blue-Collar Bowling

Mahall's Twenty Lanes

Opened in 1924, Mahall's Twenty Lanes is a no-nonsense alley. The two-floor complex looks like it hasn't been renovated since 1974 (because it hasn't). They don't put on airs with automatic scoring. And when you get a strike, a crown-shaped light merely flickers above the defeated pins. Mahall's also offers one of the best deals in town: the Retro-Rock-A-Bowl. On Friday or Saturday, you can get a night of bowling, bowling shoes, and live music, all for $10. With its vintage decor, adjoining restaurant, billiards room, and friendly staff, Mahall's has no plans on changing anytime soon. And that's just the way we like it.
