Best Cheap Brunch

Buckeye Beer Engine

Known as much for its outstanding food as its microbrewed beer, the Beer Engine in Lakewood is home to one of the region's best brunches. Pushing it over the edge of greatness is the way it leaves you with plenty of dough for adult beverages. You can go exotic with the Tassajara-style whole wheat pancakes ($5) or the custard dipped Challah French toast with caramelized bananas and pecans ($7). Or keep it simple with a classic Greek omelet ($7) or perhaps the biscuits and gravy ($6). Breakfast starts at 10 a.m., and the Build Your Own Bloody Mary Bar opens at 11. Of course, you can also order from the Beer Engine's never-ending list of in-house and worldly beers, though you might just save those for Monday through Saturday.
