Michael Symon

Over social media recently, Michael Symon discussed the differences between "leaders" and "bosses." Leaders inspire their charges to do their best, while bosses simply demand action. We're paraphrasing, of course (have you seen Symon's tweets?), but the end result is the same. Don't believe us? Have a meal at Lola, Lolita, Roast or any of the million-or-so B Spots and we can pretty much guarantee that the experience will be as close to perfect as possible despite the fact that Symon very likely is 460 miles away in New York City. How do we know that? Because Symon is a leader not a boss — one who inspires his employees up and down the chain of command to behave in the same professional manner whether he's in the room or not.
