Holly Holsinger

The scorned Hester Prynne was brought to urban life in Suzan-Lori Park's In the Blood, thanks in large part to director Holly Holsinger's ability to draw honest emotion out of her young cast. Performed at the CSU Factory Theatre, this work centered around the great sin of homelessness, not adultery. Alternating dialogue scenes with rationalizing monologues by adults who sometimes appear to be helping but really aren't, the play exposed the hypocrisies of society. Holsinger's production was consistently compelling and involving, and it made you think about people who are all too easy to ignore.
