Ed Gallek, Action News

Outgoing Mayor Mike White said there was an $11.8 million budget surplus. Incoming Mayor Jane Campbell said she couldn't find it. Reporters went looking for explanations or at least gave the appearance of looking for explanations. The sweetest moment of this little drama was Channel 19/43's Ed Gallek laying on the intercom at White's Glenville home. Supposedly out of town, White burst out of the house, took Gallek by the arm, and escorted him off his property. Citizen White never got rough, but the rage in his eyes told all about where he wanted to shove that microphone. Gallek, meantime, stayed in TV-news-game face and kept asking about the money. Hokey but utterly enjoyable theater.
