Best Gelato Among the Geraniums

Café Angelo at Petitti Garden Centers

Queen Victoria would feel right at home in Angelo Petitti's Strongsville garden center, an enormous "Crystal Palace" of glass and steel, bursting at the seams with plants, flowers, and greenery of all description. Should too much shopping cause the queen to feel a trifle peckish, Rick Serio and his little European-style café are right on hand to refresh Her Majesty with thick sandwiches, robust coffees, and delicious homemade gelato. Imagine sitting at a hand-painted Italian ceramic-topped table, beneath a towering ficus, within earshot of a burbling fountain, and in the presence of butterflies and birds, nibbling away at hazelnut-white chocolate, rum-raisin, or raspberry gelato. Why, even her royal sourpuss could hardly resist a smile.
