Tink Holl

None of the labels at this Chinatown market are in English, and every vendor is from China or Vietnam, which is why Tink Holl is where many Asian-area restaurants buy their essentials. It's also where you should go for tea of any kind -- the store has four shelves of the stuff, including two for green blends like emerald-tip green, citrus green, and melon-seed green. The mart also features live fish and seafood, sticky rice and rolling mats for sushi-making, and a huge variety of packaged noodles. Imported Thailand rice is sold in huge flour-like sacks. The store also sells vanilla papery-thin fortune cookies by the pound -- but beware: You'll probably have no idea what's in store for you. The fortunes are written in Chinese.
