Best Local Beer

Select Lager, Crooked River Brewing Company

For decades, breweries dotted Cleveland's near West Side, turning out brews to slake the thirsts of the working people who made the city go. Though the last vestiges of these barleyed behemoths stand in ruin today, their progeny are turning out fine beers for the Gap crowd. Our choice, for its smooth flavor and moderate price, is the Select Lager from Crooked River. Not too heavy and nowhere near wimpy, it's the perfect go-with for everything from bar runs to bar mitzvahs.
