Best New Brewery

Fat Heads Brewery and Saloon

Former Rocky River Brewing Co. brewer Matt Cole opened Fat Heads in the old Danny Boy Farm Market in April, and the place has been, um, hopping ever since. Fat Heads features its own distinctive line of brews (it rolled out a Christmas ale as a "Christmas in July" special, and the smoked porter just scored a silver medal at the 2009 Great American Beer Festival), including cask-conditioned ales. You can choose from 10 handcrafted beers and 22 "guest" beers to wash down the enormous menu of sandwiches, pizzas and salads. And with many former Great Lakes Brewing Co. bartenders pouring the beers, there's an expert staff that knows its barley wine from its lager. (24581 Lorain Rd., 440.801.1001, Niesel
