William Green

Mike Junkins and Clifford Charltons are the stuff of Draft Day jinxes, but the Browns came out on top with William Green. The team's first-round pick of 2002 averaged more than 100 rushing yards through the last seven games of his inaugural season, leading the Browns to the playoffs for the first time in a hundred years. He'll need to do more of the same in 2003 to take pressure off whoever's throwing the ball. Top-flight runners have been scarce here since Earnest Byner, but Green keeps our hope springing eternal.
