Edgewater Park

Possibly the most popular meeting ground in Cleveland, Edgewater is the place to see a cross section of the city in a natural setting, from picnicking families to shirtless men flaunting their he-boobies. It's also the only urban public beach that's not just a glorified parking lot. It got a heckuva lot cleaner and better maintained a few years ago, when it became a state park. In the spring and summer, it plays host to a kite festival, an American Indian powwow, and numerous charity walk-a-thons. Amenities include a bike path, a pier that's perfect for sunset-watching, an ideal sledding hill, and a good view of the Fourth of July fireworks at downtown's Voinovich Park.
