Best Reasons to Turn on the Radio

88.7 WJCU, 89.3 WCSB, 91.1 WRUW

Most of us have a music fanatic or news junkie in our lives. Let me tell you about my friends. OK, they're not my personal friends, but I spend a lot of time with them. They know everything there is to know about all sorts of music and topics — indie-rock, private-press psychedelia, black metal, the "War on Drugs," ethnic sounds, libertarianism, Irish folk, '80s dance, oldies, food, etc. They know where all the cool shows and events are, and sometimes they hook me up with free tickets. They don't hammer me with homophobia, xenophobia or tasteless music. They're always there for me, on the left side of the radio dial. Even when I don't have a radio, I can listen to them on the Internet, especially when I'm stuck in my work cubicle. Just like any good friend, always there when you need 'em. (;; — Guevara
