Best Slice of Gay Paree

Le Oui Oui Café

Who knew that a bouquet of ostrich plumes, swaths of vintage fabrics, and a couple of Edith Piaf records could turn a corner of Ohio City into a shabby-chic Parisian bistro? The obvious answer is Denajua, (pictured) Cleveland's own designer, Francophile, and certified free spirit, who rules over her little neighborhood crêperie with a wooden rabot in one hand and jar of Nutella in the other. Not only does she possess an artist's eye and a wicked sense of humor, she cooks up a mean crêpe, too -- moist, eggy, and irresistible when folded over some imported brie, say, or a soupçon of French marmalade. No more boning up on the Berlitz and booking a flight when we need to sample the City of Lights. Since Denajua has opened shop, smart Clevelanders can just say oui oui (oui), all the way home.
