Best Stage Funnyman

Kevin Joseph Kelly

Some performers are just funny, whether you give them a great comedy script or two minutes in line at the market. Kevin Joseph Kelly is one of these blessed individuals, and it showed in the broad thigh-slapper Greater Tuna, at the Beck Center. Playing a variety of rubes and redneck losers, Kelly was a hulking mass of ignorant certainty as the poodle-poisoning Pearl as well as Bertha, the momma of a delinquent. Some may know Kelly from his TV persona, Jimi Sprinkles, on Fox 8's "That's Life with Robin Swoboda." If so, you really need to get out more and catch Kelly when he hits the boards and his comedic chops are on full display.
