Bewitching Imagery

When: Sun., Feb. 15 2015
The latest exhibition at the Cleveland Museum of Art, The Novel and the Bizzare: Salvator Rosa’s Scenes of Witchcraft, is a group of four paintings that were created in Florence at the Medici court, and reflects both Florentine traditions and a more contemporary interest in witchcraft. A collection of 16th- and 17th-century prints and drawings of occult imagery, as well as other examples of Rosa’s work from the museum’s permanent collection, will offer visual and conceptual context. The exhibit opens today. General admission to the museum and this exhibition is free. (Usmani)
