Blues Provider

When: Fri., Dec. 12 2014
“Mouse music” is a term for music that’s “cheap and not real,” as one pundit puts it in This Ain’t No Mouse Music, a documentary about record collector Chris Stachwitz, the founder of the blues and bluegrass label Arhoolie Records. Stachwitz says he “just fell in love with making records” because they’re “like snapshots.” The movie documents his life and career and includes interviews with musicians such as Ry Cooder and Richard Thompson. The film makes its Cleveland debut tonight at 7:30 at the Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque. Tickets are $9. (Niesel)
