You’d be hard-pressed to find an artist who’s sold as many albums as Bon Jovi and is still not inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. (Guitarist Richie Sambora recently said he hopes the band will be enshrined before he dies). In the course of their 30-year career, the guys have sold over 125 million albums. The current arena and stadium tour, launched in advance of the new studio album, What About Now, is a huge production that features a video screen that will move along to the music. The guys will work some new tunes into the set, including the new single, “Because We Can,” a disposable pop anthem that reeks of jingoism and doesn’t compare favorably to the band’s best work -- namely, working class anthems such as “Runaway” and “It’s My Life.” Here’s to hoping the other new tunes that filter into what will undoubtedly be a greatest hits set are better.
