Book Launch: Born to Lead — Americana Music Trailblazers

In his eighth book, Born to Lead: Americana Music Trailblazers, Mark Hodermarsky recognizes those artists who have played influential roles in the Americana movement. The book seeks to provide "a sharper description of the genre" and also offers a section devoted to deepening an appreciation for Americana's "immense scale and diversity." Hodermarsky offer his takes on how Bob Dylan, the Byrds, Gram Parsons, Gene Clark, Buffalo Springfield, the Grateful Dead and other acts pursued their musical visions and encouraged other musicians to forge their own paths. He reads from his book tonight at 7:30 at Visible Voice Books. Admission is free. (Niesel)
