Boy Hits Car/Exotic Animal Petting Zoo

With their self-dubbed “lovecore” sound (simply known as alternative rock to most), Boy Hits Car have been around for nearly two decades and have issued a grand total of four albums. But what they lack in studio releases they make up for with stage presence. Front man Craig Rondell’s antics know no limits: he took a 75-foot stage dive at 2006’s KROCK-a-thon in New York. Though the band isn’t very well known, its 2011 release Stealing Fire produced some modern-rock station-ready songs like the ballad “She Ran Away.” (Nikki Hunt)
