Butler, Bernstein and the Hot 9

When: Wed., Oct. 11 2017
The Cleveland Museum of Art's Performing Arts Series kicked off earlier this fall. The series continues tonight as pianist Henry Butler brings his jazz combo, Butler, Bernstein & the Hot 9, to town. Butler and trumpeter Steven Bernstein first worked together in 1998 in the Kansas City All Stars. They reunited in 2011 for a concert in New York where they performed pieces by Bessie Smith and Jelly Roll Morton. Tonight's concert serves as a celebration of the museum's new exhibition, The Jazz Age: American Style in the 1920s. It begins at 7:30. Tickets are $43 to $59, or $38 to $53 for CMA members.
