Chris Cab/Jacey Jasnoch

When: Sat., Oct. 20, 5:30 p.m. 2012
Price: $10 ADV, $12 DOS
At first glance, Cris Cab seems like he would be just some 19-year old punk who got famous for doing covers of popular songs like Wiz Khalifa’s “Black and Yellow” and Foster the People’s “Pumped Up Kicks” and posting them on YouTube, but the kid’s Akon-like vocals and reggae influence has won praise from the likes of Pharrell and Wyclef Jean, and now he’s releasing original singles (mostly acoustic serenade-type stuff), including “Good Girls (Don’t Grow on Trees)” with special guest Big Sean. He’s still quite new to the music scene, but if he keeps up the pace, Cab will be the new acoustic singer-songwriter that makes guys say, “Ugh, my girlfriend likes that dude’s music.” (Sam Mendez)
