Cleveland Kurentonvaje will attempt to scare away winter with the annual Slovenian Mardi Gras festival in the former Slovenian-immigrant St. Clair-Superior neighborhood. The event is centered on the Kurent, a fuzzy mythological creature.
11am: Doors open at Slovenian National Home (SNH)
Noon: Parade, starting at Sterle's Country House and ending at SNH.
1-6pm: The celebration continues at the SNH with live music on three stages, cultural performances throughout the day, vendors, free kids crafting and face painting, and plenty of ethnic food and drink including the famous Slovenian Slivovitz Shot Ski.
6pm-Late: Official Kurentovanje after-party at Sterle's
