Coloring Outside the Lines

When: Fri., July 7 2017
Although classes may have ended for the academic year, many of the students of the Cleveland Institute of Art are still hard at work this summer. Traditionally, summers are a time for students refocus their efforts without the structure of their curriculum and outside of the confines of their classroom studios. As each student continues to develop his or her skills and find a proverbial “voice,” summers allow these young artists to implement everything they’ve learned over the past year, while preparing for the next one. For the third time, Cain Park and the Cleveland Institute of Art are partnering to present the work of a select group of current students from CIA. Coloring Outside the Lines features the students’ most recent and thought-provoking work. Located in the Alma Courtyard, the exhibition opens with a reception from 6 to 8 tonight and remains on view through Aug. 20, one hour before events through intermission (except July 22, 26 and August 2). Admission is free. (Usmani)
