Daniel Thompson Birthday Observance with Drumplay

When: Sun., April 21, 2 p.m. 2013
Phone: (216) 991-2030
Celebrate the birthday of the late, great Cuyahoga County poet laureate Daniel Thompson with the music of Drumplay, saxophonist Ernie Krivda, and poet Ray McNiece. Drumplay fuses jazz and folk elements with spoken word, and uses world rhythms in their percussive pulse. A public poet and political activist since the sixties, Daniel Thompson was the founder of Poetsbank, and organizer of such cultural events in the Cleveland area as Junkstock. This is also the last day of our Spring Book Sale. Grab a bag of poetry (or other) books for just 5 dollars!
