Death and the Maiden

When: Thu., Sept. 17 2015
A probing psychological play written by Chilaen playwright Ariel Dorfman, Death and the Maiden gives voice to a woman’s survivorship through former prisoner of war Paulina. When Paulina suspects that the guest her husband has invited into their home is her former torturer, her husband gives aid to the stranger, unconvinced of Paulina’s sanity. In this “3-handed acting triumph” the characters spend 48 hours uncovering evidence clouded by paranoia and guilt. The play features Derdriu Ring, cofounder of the Mamaí Theatre Company. Tickets are $22. The performance begins at 7:30 tonight at the Kennedy Theatre and the play runs until October 4. (Schwartz)
