Dennis DeYoung: The Music of Styx

Since his acrimonious split from prog rockers Styx in the ’80s, singer Dennis DeYoung has done a little bit of everything. He released a few solo albums, briefly reunited with Styx (sans guitarist Tommy Shaw), and appeared in a touring production of Jesus Christ Superstar. After another reunion with Styx (this time with Tommy Shaw), DeYoung again parted ways with the group in 1999 but thanks to a lawsuit can still perform the music and advertise his shows in such a way that they reflect the fact that he’ll play Styx’s hits. So expect to hear tracks such as “Renegade,” “Blue Collar Man,” and even the much-mocked “Mr. Roboto.” (Jeff Niesel)
