This is a past event.

When: Fridays, Saturdays. Continues through June 16 2012
Since making the terrific neo-Nazi skinhead drama American History X in 1998, Tony Kaye has laid kinda low, except for a couple of barely seen arthouse films. No surprise then that the prickly British director's new movie is his best in 14 years. Adrien Brody plays a substitute teacher in a public-school system who stays disconnected from both students and fellow teachers. But he can only put off the whole mess of problems waiting to crash down on him for so long. Marcia Gay Harden, James Caan, and Christina Hendricks also star. Cinematheque. At 5:30 p.m. Friday and 7:10 p.m. Saturday.
