DIIV/Lodro/Regal Degal

Diiv has reverb, and they’re not afraid to use it. Frontman Zachary Cole Smith creates a dreamy landscape of shimmery indie-pop in 2012’s Oshin; it’s part shoe-gazer and part surf-rock. There’s this watery feel to the songs that almost sound like you’re listening underwater. “Earthboy” is a mellow slow-jam full of echoing guitars that wash over Smith’s vocals, making the song come off as something between ambient soundscape and power-pop ballad.
