By Alfred Uhry Directed by Tyson Douglas Rand Before it was an Academy Award-winning film, Driving Miss Daisy was a Pulitzer Prize-winning play. Written by Alfred Uhry, it tells the story of the unique relationship between an elderly, white woman, Daisy Werthran, and her black chauffeur, Hoke Colburn. Set in Atlanta during the 50s and 60s, the play takes audiences on a journey of prejudice, racism, but ultimately, understanding as Daisy comes to know Hoke as a person and a friend.
