Walking into one of the many coffee shops in Kent Ohio in the late 1960s you might have stumbled upon the struggling student and flourishing musician Joe Walsh for a free acoustic show. Tonight, it will cost you $200 for front row seats to the now iconic guitarist and his equally infamous band, the Eagles who are out on tour to promote a Showtime documentary about the band. Walsh joined the Eagles in 1975 and drove the band away from former country inspired music such as “Take It Easy” and towards rock driven songs with immortalized guitar riffs and solos such as that of “Life In The Fast Lane.” Walsh also co-wrote the band’s most recognized song “Hotel California,” perhaps the most played tune on every classic rock radio station in the nation. Bernie Leadon, a founding member and the group’s original guitarist, will join his replacement, Walsh, on this tour for what has been reported as the band’s last tour ever.
