These Texas indie-rockers went four years between album releases, but now Eisley is back (sans a few band members) with I’m Only Dreaming, an album that relies on broader instrumentation and some electronic elements. On the disc, the band’s signature guitar-driven pop-punk sound is still present, but the new album sounds like Metric or Death Cab for Cutie as opposed to emo-punk acts like Paramore or Say Anything. On the single “Louder Than a Lion,” lead singer Sherri Dupree-Bemis combines her low register with a pulsing electronic break beat, giving off a more sinister vibe than the band has previously had. It’s a safe bet that Eisley will play new album material; labelmates Civilian and Backwards Dancer will open. (Johnny Cook)
