Rockin’ on the River is known for attracting national tribute bands covering Rock and Roll Hall of Famers, but tonight one of the finest neo-hippie bands of the Midwest will rock the stage with original psychedelic songs. Right out of the hills of southern Ohio, Ekoostick Hookah has been working the music scene for more than 20 years, continually cranking out original experimental tunes. The band’s new album Brij continues the legacy with long guitar solos and piercing organ over intricate drum beat. It’ll make you want to dance in a field of flowers. Luckily, everyone will have a chance to enjoy the group’s free show in a setting perfectly suited to the jam band’s music. Don’t miss local opener Mo’ Mojo; their heavy use of percussion is sure to have everyone dancing. Opening acts go on at 5:30; headliners go on around 8:30. (William Hoffman)
