Fables of the Deconstruction

When: Thu., Aug. 21 2014
Based on a series of fables written by the fictional Jonathan Mallory Sinus, Aaron Schimberg’s Go Down Death is a surreal black and white film about a village that has been decimated by disease. The film’s characters are disheveled and downright ugly, suggesting that Schimberg comes from the same perspective as outsider directors such as David Lynch and Guy Maddin. The film makes its Cleveland premiere tonight at 8:40 and shows again at 8:25 on Sunday night at the Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque. Tickets are $9. (Niesel)
