For the Birds

When: Sat., Oct. 26 2013
In honor of Halloween, the Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque is screening some classic horror this week, and none jumps out quite like Alfred Hitchcock’s 1963 thriller The Birds. It’s the first film Hitch made after Psycho and remains one of the most widely debated in the annals of horror cinema. Here’s the premise, if you haven’t seen it. It’s easy. Flocks of bloodthirsty birds descend upon a coastal California town for no apparent reason. Gotta love when they explode out of chimneys like the Hogwarts acceptance letters in Harry Potter. Mmmmmm. It’s playing tonight at 9:40 and tomorrow night at 6:30. Tickets are $9 for non-members, $6 for the 25-and-under crowd. (If Hitchcock’s not your thing, you can also check out The Haunting, also screening at the Cinematheque this weekend). (Allard)
