Found Objects

Creating an exact replica of the internationally known Illinois shed-turned-artspace known as "The Suburban," MOCA Cleveland experiments in close-quarters art with its own new exhibit. At 8 x 8 feet, the former storage shed at MOCA hosts a series of artist's works for the next couple months. Today at 2 p.m., Amanda Ross-Ho utilizes the claustrophobic space with her work "Untitled Smock (Accident)." A 300 percent up-scaled rendition of an artist's smock covers the wall creating a unique comparison of size between the giant object in a small space. The magnified view Ross-Ho creates in her work, which also includes found backpacks, objects and jewelry, gives the viewer a personal and intimate look into the everyday human experience. Being able gain a microscopic view with the naked eye is an unusual opportunity offered by the artist. The opening today at 2 p.m. is free to the public. (Stoops)
