Freaky Flow & MC Flipside

Friday, August 13, at Peabody's.

Dynamic drum & bass duo Freaky Flow and Flipside complete their last touring gig together in Cleveland on Friday, August 13. Even for those who think Flow rips Hype's scratching or that Flipside's MCing is the only thing freaky about the duo, it's a show no head should miss. After seven years of tight touring, a successful live mix CD, and numerous studio collaborations, Flipside boots his sidekick status for a career in hip-hop. But that won't stop the Flow.

This date is actually part of the Flashback tour to support Flow's recently released CD of the same name. Flashback features his solo production and remix repertoire dating from 1995 -- including the remix of 311's "You Wouldn't Believe." But his remix of the Canadian hip-hop rocker "Northern Touch" and the Peanuts theme "Linus and Lucy" roll hard, hitting plastic instead of wax for the first time.

It won't be a first for Freaky Flow to be on his own, and that's the premise of Flashback. "Again, it's all on me, like it was many years ago when I first started this journey," he writes on his website. "This CD is a tribute to that era . . . But it also marks the start of a new one."
