Gender Bender Staff Pick Members Pick

When: Thu., Jan. 9 2014
Exact Change, Scene theater critic Christine Howey’s “one-woman tour de force,” opens tonight at Cleveland Public Theatre. It’s a reflection on identity and politics that's peppered with wit and heart. Howey was formerly the acclaimed Cleveland actor Dick Howey. Exact Change not only chronicles her gender transition but also examines the social and political dynamics at play. An original work, the play was written and will be performed by Howey herself. It was developed in the CPT Dark Room and is part of the theater's New Work Development Series. The production runs through Jan. 25. Tonight’s show starts at 7 p.m. and tickets are only $12; but prices go up for the weekend. (Sam Allard)
