New York gypsy-influenced folk-punk band Golem headlines the Workmen’s Circle Yiddish Concert that takes place at 7:30 p.m. at Evan’s Amphitheater in Cain Park. The band plays a wild mix of Yiddish folk music that should appeal to fans of gypsy punks Gogol Bordello, along with traditional and original folk songs that push the boundaries of what is typical in this niche style of folk. Workmen’s Circle is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the Jewish language and culture as well as enacting social justice within the community. With 35 years under its belt, this organization knows how to put on an event and continue community support for this great cause. (Jeff Niesel)
