Green All Over

Little green men don't always come from outer space. Sometimes, after a few pints of beer and extra helpings of corned beef and cabbage, you can catch the tiny buggers walking the streets — as part of Cleveland's annual Saint Patrick's Day Parade. Along with marching bands, bagpipers, and fancy floats, leprechauns — in the form of costumed characters — will be coming out to celebrate the Irish. More than 14,000 people will march as part of the city's 139th annual shindig, and more than 300,000 spectators are expected to don green along the route. "Everyone wants to be Irish that day," says Walter "Mickey" McNally, executive director of the parade, which starts at 1 p.m. at East 18th Street and Superior Avenue and wends its way through various downtown streets. Admission is free. Call 216-556-5183 for more information.
